I'm doing some research on state of the art prostheses for upper
extremity amputees and I was hoping some people in the community here
could point me in the right direction(s). Specifically I'm interested
in systems that are able to simultaneously control multiple joints,
such as for a reach and grasp task. I have found some commercially
available components such as the Otto Bock sensor hand, etc., that
seem popular but I haven't seen much in the way of commercially
available arms or components that lend themselves to simultaneous
control or how this might be achieved. Additionally, if anyone knows
of research or clinical trials currently going on, or knows specific
limitations of current systems (grip strength, wrist flexion strength,
etc.) I'd love to talk. Thank you in advance for the help.
