Following the recent posting on the 19-21 April 1990 meeting in Florida on
Medical Imaging in Orthopaedics, Dr Buhle kindly provided the full programme as
known until now: see below.

Also, I should like to mention again the First East/West Coast Clinical Gait Lab
Conference being organized in San Diego on 6 and 7 April 1990. An interesting
presentation is by David H. Sutherland M.D., Kinematics of the lower extremities
of a Tahitian Dancer, followed by James Moitoza M.D., Dynamic Tibial Torsion /
Rotation. The authors are both with the San Diego Childrens Hospital's Gait
Analysis Laboratory.

Post deadline papers are being accepted until March 9, 1990. The conference

Thank you for your interest in the meeting entitled: "Digital Imaging in
Orthopaedic Surgery". This meeting will be held on April 19-21, 1990 at the
Don Cesar Resort in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, USA.

The purpose of this International Symposium is three-fold:

1. To provide the orthopaedic surgeon with an up-to-date overview - as well as
future prospects - of the state of the art in instrumentation, methodologies,
and implementations of digital imaging as applied to the practical needs and
problems in orthopaedic surgery. Engineers will review the basic principles,
technologies, advantages, and limitations governing digital imaging.

2. Physicians currently employing various aspects of digital imaging in their
clinical work and research will report their practical experiences, discuss the
advantages and shortcomings, and speculate on future prospects as envisioned by
the physician.

3. Formal and informal discussions between practising physicians and engineers
will be directed to address the needs and expectations of the physicians both
at the current time and into the future.

The goal of this symposium is to minimize the misconceptions and to maximize
the synergy between physicians and engineers on this vital topic.
