November 2-5 2005
Carlton Crest Hotel

On behalf of the convening committee, I extend an invitation to you to
attend the 2005 Annual Scientific Meeting of ISPO Australia. The
conference promises to be exciting for all who have an interest in
prosthetics, orthotics, biomechanics of gait, and treatment of amputees,
with broad, relevant and meaningful themes for the various professional
groups with such interests. Our keynote speaker Dr Richard Baker is
outstanding in his field and has the key to make gait analysis
understandable for us. While the presentations will keep you keep
enthralled, Sydney's climate in November is ideal for discovering the
city's attractions.

Join us for a very stimulating and diverse scientific programme and
social activities that will contribute to a successful conference.

Friedbert Kohler,
Convenor, ANMS ISPO 2005 ASM

Dr Richard Baker is Manager of the Gait Analysis Service at the Royal
Children's Hospital, Melbourne and Director of the NHMRC funded Centre

Dr Baker undertook his PhD while working as a bioengineer at the Dundee
Limb Fitting Centre in Scotland. He has since become world renowned
figure in the area of gait biomechanics as evidenced by his numerous
publications and positions on the editorial board of the journal Gait
and Posture, and his former committee membership for ESMAC, the European
Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children.

In his Keynote Address entitled "What can clinical gait analysis offer
the prosthetist and orthotist?' Dr Baker will discuss ways of capturing
and analysing gait data to enhance its meaning for the doctors and
allied health clinicians.

small group tutorials designed to enhance skills in 'Interpreting gait
data' using examples of prosthetic and orthotic cases.

A workshop on Ground Reaction Ankle-Foot Orthoses is currently in the
