Engineering, Lerner Research Institute, The Cleveland Clinic
Foundation, USA.
"The biomechanics of bone loss during manned space exloration"

4) Dr Stefan Hesse, Free University Berlin, Germany
"Gait training after stroke - past, present and future"

5) Professor Garth Johnson, Centre for Rehabilitation and
Engineering Studies (CREST) University of Newcastle upon
Tyne, UK.

SPECIAL SESSIONS:
Session 1) " Advances in gait laboratory technology and
techniques” - markerless motion capture, gait data prediction,
reducing skin movement artefact and related topics.

Session 2) " Real-world gait assessment” – Textile based
sensors, wearable motion, force, and pressure sensors,
implantable monitoring systems, motion capture in the built
environment.

Session 3) " Simulation of gait and modelling” – Chaired by Dr
A.J. (Ton) van den Bogert – computer based simulations of gait
and lower limb biomechanics.

Session 4) " SPASTICITY” – Workshop led by the co-
ordinators of the EU funded support action “SPASM” - The
overall objective of the SPASM project was to establish best
practice in measurement of spasticity based on current
knowledge and research in Europe.
