PhD Studentship: Biomedical engineering, biomechanics, biomaterials

We seek to recruit an enthusiastic individual to work on an exciting biomedical engineering project in conjunction with 2 major UK NHS hospitals and the biomedical industry.

Theme:
The project will investigate the mechanical properties of bones with invasive and non-invasive methods and further develop prototype equipment for this purpose.

Skills:
The candidate should ideally have an electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering background, although candidates with an applied science, physics and materials background are also welcome to apply. Some knowledge in instrumentation, tissue mechanics, or medical physics would be desirable, but not strictly necessary.

Eligibility:
A good honours degree (either 1st, or 2i, or a 2ii + MSc) on any applied science, engineering, physics, materials, or closely related subjects.
