Progress in Motor Control V
A Multidisciplinary Perspective

August 17 - 20, 2005
Pennsylvania State University, State College

The research area of motor control has become an
increasingly multidisciplinary undertaking.
Understanding the learning and performance of
voluntary movements in biological and artificial
systems requires the integration of knowledge
from a range of disciplines such as
neurophysiology, kinesiology, neuroscience,
robotics, psychology, biomechanics, nonlinear
dynamics, and biology. The conference Progress in
Motor Control V aims to bring together
researchers from this wide range of disciplines
discussing the processes involved in perceptually
guided actions.

The three-day conference will be organized into
seven symposia on cutting-edge topics. Seven
researchers from different disciplines will chair
a symposium of four to five speakers each. A
panel discussion will conclude each symposium.
There will two three-hour-long poster sessions,
one on each conference day, allowing attendees
ample time to present their own work and engage
in informal interactions.
