The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program of the College of Health Sciences
at Des Moines University - Osteopathic Medical Center is searching for
an energetic, innovative physical therapist to join our dynamic faculty
in a full-time, 12-month, tenure track negotiable faculty position at
the assistant or associate professor rank. Primary content area of
instruction will be neuromuscular physical therapy.

Des Moines University - Osteopathic Medical Center, an academic health
sciences center, has degree programs in osteopathic medicine, podiatric
medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, health care
administration, and public health. DMU has a federally funded Geriatric
Education Center. The Physical Therapy Program of the College of Health
Sciences offers fully accredited DPT and post-professional DPT
curricula. The faculty are dedicated to developing outstanding
professionals who value critical thinking, life-long learning and
service. Manual therapeutic approaches are emphasized. Technology is
playing an ever-increasing role in the College and faculty can develop
and implement online teaching through Blackboard. In a wireless campus
all incoming students are provided with a personal laptop computer for
curricular and personal use. In addition to teaching, scholarly
activity, and service, faculty may have the opportunity to provide
patient care services in the on-campus physical therapy clinic. Research
and scholarly activity is an integral part of the DPT curriculum. DMU
has a Human Performance Laboratory complete with an eight camera
RealTime Motion Analysis capture system, three ground reaction force
plates (one of which is portable), and a 16-channel EMG system.

Des Moines is the largest city in Iowa and the state capitol. With more
than 50 insurance companies, Des Moines is the world's third largest
insurance center. The metropolitan area, with a population of 400,000,
has a strong educational system at all levels. Located at the
intersection of Interstates 80 and 35, Des Moines is within easy reach
of Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Omaha.

Qualifications: A PhD or equivalent academic doctoral degree required;
individuals enrolled in an academic doctoral program will be considered;
academic and clinical experience required, and eligibility for PT
licensure in Iowa. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
