Position Available:

Assistant/Associate Professor in the School of Applied Physiology
Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA 30332-0356

The School of Applied Physiology at Georgia Tech invites applications
for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position in applied physiology.
While candidates from related areas are encouraged to apply, we have
a particular interest in individuals with expertise in one or more of
the following areas: motor control and learning, the neural control
of movement, neurorehabilitation, and/or the effects of aging on the
neuromotor system. The successful candidate must have an earned
doctoral degree, an established record of scholarship and a
documented commitment to excellence in teaching, service and
research. The candidate is expected to develop a nationally
recognized research program, participate in interdisciplinary
research activities and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make
significant contributions to the newly-established PhD program in
Applied Physiology. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
education and experience.

The School of Applied Physiology is one of seven academic units
within the College of Sciences at the Georgia Institute of
Technology. Current faculty members are active in the areas of
biomechanics and the neural control of movement, movement stability
in the elderly, comparative neuromechanics and biomedical
engineering, rehabilitation engineering, external prosthetics and
orthotics, molecular biology and muscle physiology, and systems
physiology as applied to exercise. Campus collaborations currently
exist with the Center for Human Movement Studies, Department of
Biomedical Engineering and Program in Bioengineering, School of
Psychology, and the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental
Access. Off-campus opportunities are available with the Departments
of Physiology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Neurology and
Rehabilitation Medicine in the Emory University School of Medicine
and the Atlanta Veterans Administration Hospital.

Interested individuals should send a letter of application,
curriculum vitae, three recent publications and the names, addresses,
email addresses and phone numbers of three individuals who could be
contacted for letters of recommendation. Applications will be
