Postdoctoral Research Associate, Computational Biomechanics
Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute and Department of Bioengineering
University of Utah

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate to
work on the development and application of a (quasi) meshless analysis
technique called Material Point Method to problems in biomechanics. This
is a 12 month postdoc, renewable for an additional 12 months and
possibly longer. This Phase II project, funded by DARPA, is part of a
multi-institutional collaborative effort that includes investigators at
the University of Utah, UCSD, University of Auckland, Stanford
University and the University of Michigan.

The position is available immediately but applicants will be considered
if they can start before February 1, 2006. Only applicants that are
currently residing in North America will be considered at this time.

Applicants should have completed a PhD in bioengineering, mechanical
engineering, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have an
understanding of the basic concepts of nonlinear solid mechanics and C++
programming skills. The successful applicant will work with a team of
faculty, postdocs and graduate students.

An overview of the Material Point Method can be found at:
