The following event might be of interest to you.

Dr. Mark de Zee of the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry at
the University of Aarhus, Denmark, will present a free and public webcast

On the development of a rigid-body model of the mandible

Time: 7 September 2005 9am and 9pm Central European Summer Time (UTC/GMT + 2
Duration: Approximately one hour.
Prerequisites: A PC with a high speed internet connection and a speaker.

The event is sponsored by AnyBody Technology, and signup for the event is

- An overview of the intended use of the model in relation to
mandibular distraction osteogenesis.

- Description of the model with special focus on the
temporo-mandibular joint.

- Simulation of different clenching cases and dynamic movements
after which the estimations are compared with experimental
results. Some experimental results are recently obtained
including EMG recordings of the medial and lateral pterygoid
with wire electrodes.

A webcast is a transmission of a presentation via the Internet from the
presenter's computer to the attendees' browsers. The system is equipped with
mechanisms for audience questions.
