Ohio University, School of Physical Therapy, is seeking applications and
nominations for two Group I, tenure-track faculty positions at the level of
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on
qualifications. The successful candidate will hold a post-professional
degree, in addition to an entry-level degree in physical therapy. It is
expected that the candidate will have an established research agenda; those
seeking a position at the Associate Professor or above must have a record of
peer-reviewed publications and external funding. Generous start-up funding
and internal support necessary to be successful in grant submission is
available. Laboratory space is also available with the size dependent upon
the area of study. We provide a reduced teaching schedule for faculty with
funding, or those junior faculty members who are working toward tenure and
promotion. Networking with other scientists in the university community is
encouraged. Eligibility for Ohio licensure as a physical therapist is
required. Clinical and teaching experience is desirable. Rank and salary
are open as we are seeking the best and strongest person for the positions,
rather than a particular area. We are, however, seeking at least one person
in the musculoskeletal area.

Established in 1804, Ohio University is a doctoral/research extensive
university, and the oldest public institution of higher learning in the
state of Ohio. It is located in Athens, in the scenic Appalachian
foothills. As a comprehensive institution, Ohio offers distinctive and high
quality undergraduate education, and excellent, focused graduate education.
The School of Physical Therapy, approximately 20 years old, is one of six
schools in the College of Health and Human Services. Currently, we offer an
entry-level doctor of physical therapy degree (DPT), and we are working on
establishing an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program. We have 11 full-time
faculty positions and 2 part-time positions; we enroll 36 students in each
class of students. We are fully accredited by CAPTE and expect our next
on-site visit in 2009.
