PhD Scholarship 2006-2008

We are offering a 3 year full time PhD scholarship for individuals with
a Bachelor or Masters degree in science, medicine, physiotherapy,
exercise science, biomedical engineering or related area.

biomechanical factors related to the development and progression of knee

The scholarship will pay a stipend of $19,000 Australian Dollars tax
free per annum for 3 years. International students will still be
required to pay tuition fees and may use the stipend to contribute to

The Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine was established in
October 2000. It is a multidisciplinary Centre combining high calibre
researchers with experienced clinicians from the disciplines of
physiotherapy, medicine, science and exercise science and has a number
of internationally recognised clinical associates and research
collaborators. The Centre occupies a dedicated two-storey building on
the edge of the Parkville campus of the University of Melbourne, just
north of the city centre. A state-of-the-art movement research
laboratory resides on the ground floor; facilities include an eight
camera Vicon motion analysis system, AMTI and Kistler force plates,
fine-wire and telemetered surface EMG, isokinetic dynamometer, muscle
stimulation and balance systems, ultrasound imaging and accelerometry
systems. Off-site facilities include MRI, DEXA & pQCT bone scanning systems.
