Assistant/Associate Professor: University of Kentucky. The Division of
Athletic Training, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, College of
Health Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position in
Athletic Training available Fall 2006. This exciting opportunity has
been made available because of growth of the Division of Athletic
Training and the College's Rehabilitation Sciences Doctoral Program. The
primary appointment is within the Division of Athletic Training and will
include participation within the College's Rehabilitation Sciences
Doctoral Program.

The College of Health Sciences
has 9 disciplines of study and approximately 650 students enrolled in
bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. degree programs. Additionally, the
College contributes significantly to the University's national and
international agenda through research, development, teaching, and
service activities. It is housed in a new 212,000 square foot, $32
million state-of-the-art wireless research and education facility.



The University is located in Lexington, a beautiful city of
approximately 250,000 residents in the heart of the Bluegrass Region of
central Kentucky. Long known for its thoroughbred horse industry,
Lexington and the central Kentucky region are also home to numerous
cultural organizations and several small colleges.



The Division of Athletic Training

offers a master's degree in athletic training and the opportunity to
mentor doctoral students in Rehabilitation Sciences
(http://www.mc.uky.edu/rehabsciences/) or Exercise Science through the
Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education
(http://www.uky.edu/Education/KHP/gradprog.htm). The growing
Rehabilitation Sciences Doctoral Program is a multidisciplinary,
multi-institutional, Ph.D. program with faculty and students from the
disciplines of Athletic Training, Audiology, Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology.



Ideal candidates would have a clear research vision, demonstrated
research record or potential, proven teaching and mentoring ability, and
a track record of collegiality and collaboration.

* Possession of an earned doctorate in Sports Medicine/Athletic
Training or related field prior to appointment date
* NATA-BOC certified and eligible for State of Kentucky Licensure
* Evidence or promise of establishing or maintaining an active
research agenda and seeking extramural funding
* Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service that is
consistent with the College's priorities and University's mission
* Ability to contribute or advance the research agendas of the
Musculoskeletal & Biodynamics Laboratories and mentor graduate students
