Postdoctoral Fellow in Motor Control/Motor Neuroscience
at the Pennsylvania State University, Department of Kinesiology

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research
Fellow to join our studies on theoretical and behavioral motor
control. Our research focus is on the structure of variability and
the role of stability in the acquisition and performance of skilled
actions. The postdoctoral fellow should have background and expertise
in at least one of the following fields: motor control and learning,
biomechanics, nonlinear dynamics and modeling, experimental
psychology, bioengineering. Experience with computers and programming
(Matlab, C++, etc.) is expected.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Neuroscience,
Experimental Psychology, or Physical and Engineering Sciences, with
an academic record of scientific excellence, independent research,
and a strong interest in an interdisciplinary approach to motor
control. The applicant is expected to get involved in existing
research projects but is also encouraged to bring to bear his/her
expertise into the research project.

The Department of Kinesiology at the Pennsylvania State University
has a strong focus on motor control, biomechanics and neuroscience
with 11 faculty members working on related issues. This provides a
stimulating environment for collaborations and interdisciplinary
research. The position will be supported by a grant from the National
Institutes of Health. The position is for one year and renewable for
three years.
