Research Assistant Professor (Non-tenured Track) – Department of
Neurological Surgery and Kentucky Spinal Cord Research Center - University

of Louisville

The Department of Neurological Surgery and Kentucky Spinal Cord Research
Center in collaboration with the Neuroscience Collaborative Center at
Frazier Rehab Institute invites applications for one non-tenured track
research assistant professor position. The successful candidate will
conduct independent research in the area of spinal cord injury
rehabilitation outcomes that expands upon the expertise represented among
current faculty. Additional responsibilities include managing the analysis

and interpretation of the NeuroRecovery Network (NRN) functional, health
and quality of life outcomes with activity-based rehabilitation strategies

and contributing to the ongoing development of the NRN database. The
successful applicant will also be expected to collaborate with other
faculty on new grant initiatives and mentor post-doctoral fellows and
graduate students.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, physiology, rehabilitation

science, biomechanics or other science related discipline with an academic

record of scientific excellence, independent research, and a strong
interest in an interdisciplinary approach to the study of neural control
of locomotion and activity-based rehabilitation in spinal cord injury. The

applicant will have opportunities to collaborate and work in the basic and

human research core facilities. The Kentucky Spinal Cord Research Center
and the Neuroscience Collaborative Center at Frazier Rehab Institute have
excellent facilities and a vibrant, interactive and collaborative
scientific environment with a strong commitment to translate research
findings to the clinic.
