Supervisor Dr Anthony Bull (www.imperial.ac.uk/people/a.bull)

The world-class Department of Bioengineering (rated 5* in the Research
Assessment Exercise) has available for October 2006 a BBSRC-funded CASE
studentship for a project in Statistical Shape Modelling of Bone. The
project will involve using techniques for modelling bone shapes using a
reduced dataset of information in order to define orthopaedic implant
sizes that best allows for normal articular mechanics to be recovered.

BBSRC CASE studentships are only open to candidates who have been
normally resident in the UK for at least 3 years. Candidates should
have, or expect to obtain, a good 2.1 or above in a relevant first
degree in engineering, mathematics or computing.

Application details can be found on the Imperial College website:
www.imperial.ac.uk/pgoptions. Application should be submitted directly
to Dr Bull by email: a.bull@imperial.ac.uk.

Deadline: 6th March 2006
