The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) has an immediate opening for
a graduate research assistant. Applicants would work toward a Master of
Science in Physiology of Exercise with thesis and research work in the
area of sports medicine. Position will serve as a graduate student in
the collaborative research team comprised of UTA faculty, Medical Center
of Arlington (MCA) Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, and Texas
Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics (TMI). Specific
responsibilities are dependent upon qualification and may include but
are not limited to: work with orthopedist, certified athletic trainers,
and physical therapists in clinical, surgical, and professional team
setting; conduct literature searches and assist in data collection and
management; help coordinate ACL injury prevention program; assist in
preparation of research presentations and manuscripts; and assist in
supervision of athletic training students from an accredited
undergraduate program in athletic training. This is a 12-month
appointment (preferred start date June 2006). Graduate research
assistantship is a 2 year position with a $12,000/yr stipend. The
recipient will be responsible for tuition and fees in accordance with
University policies. All graduate research assistants are subject to
in-state tuition rates. Position is competitive and will require on-site
interview.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in exercise science related field with courses
in strength and conditioning and/or applied biomechanics.
2. Must be interested in clinical research.
