Invitation and Call for Papers

the 8th biennial Footwear Biomechanics Symposium

27 -29th June 2007 at the National Yang Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan

Dear Colleagues:

We are honored and pleased to invite you to attend the 8th biennial Footwear Biomechanics Symposium. The Symposium will be held in Taipei Taiwan from the 27th through the 29th June 2007 at the National Yang Ming University (NYMU). The schedule is intended to allow participants to easily attend the regular ISB symposium that follows on 1-5 July 2007, to be held nearby. Taipei is a vibrant city with all of the color, excitement, and rich cultural heritage of a leading modern Asian city. The symposium sites at NYMU, high on a hill in a quiet wooded setting minutes from downtown Taipei city, is a perfect venue for the friendly exchanges and collegial atmosphere that have been the hallmark of past FBG symposia.

Areas of Interest topics include:

* Influence of footwear on kinematics and kinetics of human movement;

* Influence of footwear and footwear design on human performance;

* Applications of research to design of clinical, casual & athletic footwear;

* Footwear in prevention and treatment of diseases of lower extremity;

* Role of footwear in the prevention and treatment of athletic injury;

* Shoe biomechanical properties and human perceptions;

* Measurement of footwear biomechanical and physical properties.

Please joint us for three days of lively and informative presentations and engaging discussions about the latest research from footwear biomechanics. We hope see you and wish you a stimulating and fruitful conference and an enjoyable stay in Taiwan.
