The Krannert School of Physical Therapy is seeking candidates for an
open faculty position. The University of Indianapolis is a moderate
sized, church affiliated institution located in Indianapolis. As the
state's capital city and with a population of more than one million
people, metropolitan Indianapolis is the
thriving center of business, government, entertainment, and culture in
Indiana. The university's suburban, southeast-side campus provides
easy access to a wide variety of opportunities.

The position description is below:

Position Description: The position is a 12-month appointment with
academic rank, tenure status, and salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include teaching, service to the university and
community, participation in scholarly endeavors, and academic
advising. Areas of expertise could include: orthopedics,
biomechanics, exercise physiology, modalities, pathophysiology,
pharmacology, or a combination
of the fore mentioned. Primary consideration will be given to those
applicants with a terminal doctorate degree and scholarship interest
in movement science. Applicants with expertise in other content areas
will be considered in accordance with the needs of our program.
Teaching and research advising in the post-professional programs of
the Krannert School of Physical Therapy may be negotiated based on
interest and
expertise. An average of one day per week may be used to pursue
clinical practice, work in the movement science lab, or pursue other
professional development opportunities. The starting date for
appointment is as early as January 2007.

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

. Communication skills that facilitate free exchange of ideas
and information among
faculty, students, and the professional community
. Accessibility and the ability to work effectively with all
types of people

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
. Be a physical therapist eligible for Indiana licensure
. Have an earned post-professional doctorate degree-applicants
nearing completion
of a doctorate will be considered.
. Possess a strong basic science background
. Have experience as a successful academic and clinical teacher
. Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities
. Demonstrate activity in scholarly endeavors, broadly defined.
. Demonstrate a record of involvement with the professional community.

focusing on items that will contribute to the Krannert School of
Physical Therapy; curriculum vitae; and the names, titles, and
