ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOSTATISCS

Position: The position is a nine-month appointment with summer school teaching optional. Effective date of appointment will be

August 2007.



Qualifications: Doctorate in biostatistics, measurement or epidemiology. Ability to conduct and publish quality research.

Demonstrated ability to engage in cooperative research projects with medical and governmental agencies located in Houston.

Graduate and under graduate teaching, web/technology skills and postdoctoral experience are desirable. Potential to attract

external funding to support research agenda. Preference given to candidates interested in conducting research in the general

areas of human physiology/Physical Activity/obesity from a kinesological perspective.



Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in measurement and biostatistics. Train graduate students in

experimental design, measurement concepts and statistical analysis techniques relevant to the research areas represented in the

department. Develop and maintain a vigorous scholarly research program that will facilitate acquisition of external funding and

enhance graduate student recruitment. Perform service to the department, college, university and the profession, including

serving as the research methodologist on thesis and dissertation projects within the department.



Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
