The McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory

University of Pennsylvania is seeking an individual to fill a full
time research engineer/manager position. Responsibilities for this
position include bioengineering research, protocol development,
conduction of experiments, experimental apparatus design, and data
collection. Experience with Matlab and Labview required. This
individual is expected to maintain a high level of scientific
knowledge and to work with the Lab Director to provide daily
operational and organizational aspects of the laboratory. This
individual will assist in training students and junior staff and
provide general support and assistance. They will also assist in
planning and writing of documents including manuscripts,
presentations and sections of grants.

The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. or MS degree in mechanical
engineering, bioengineering or closely related engineering field with
a minimum of 3-5 years of research experience. Superior research
skills and productivity are expected. Strong organizational, writing
and speaking skills, reliability, the ability to work independently,
and good interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate should be
motivated to learn and implement new techniques and must possess the
ability to coordinate several projects and activities concurrently.

Salary is competitive and based on experience with an excellent
