View Full Version : Damping coefficient for ligament and tendon spring/damper models

I am a developing a human knee model using MSC.ADAMS software. To model the ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, Patellar tendon and Quadriceps tendons, a 1-D spring in parallel with a damper is used for each. I have defined a nonlinear spline using published data to account for the force-length relationship of the soft tissues. I cannot find any published data to help define the damping coefficient that should be used to best represent the viscoelastic behavior of the ligaments and tendons. I would appreciate any suggestions or resources you have.
