The Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University
invites applications for a full-time (10-month) tenure track faculty
position in Biomechanics at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The
position is set to begin August of 2007 (start date negotiable). The
applicant must have an earned doctorate in Biomechanics or a related
field. Preferred qualifications include evidence of scholarly
productivity, extramural funding, and undergraduate and graduate level
teaching experience.

The successful applicant will have access to the research facilities in
the Biomechanics Laboratory, a 2800 square foot area with 40 foot
ceiling height equipped with an 8-camera Peak Performance motion
analysis system, 2 AMTI force platforms, a telemetered Noraxon EMG
system, and portable video capture equipment. Collaborations are
possible with active research programs in human motion analysis,
prosthetics and orthotics, and prevention of musculoskeletal and
orthopedic injury. Larger departmental efforts include research to aid
persons with disabilities and the role of human movement in reduction of
childhood obesity.
