Dear subscribers

This is the second announcement of an international seminar on "Prediction
and evaluation of THR performance:can we plan success?", organised in
Leuven (Belgium), June 22nd-23th, 2007.

Contributed papers are invited before 2007-04-01. More information on the
programme and venue, registration and electronic submission of papers are
available on

Summary of the programme:

At the closure of the interdisciplinary research project titled
'The role of biomechanical parameters in the success or failure of
cementless orthopaedic implants', funded by the research council of
K.U.Leuven, innovative, multidisciplinary research findings are presented.

Reported topics include:
-Clinical and radiographic evaluation of THR performance
-Follow-up of implant performance using BMD and RSA
-Per-operative stability measures for THR
-Use of individualized musculoskeletal modelling to quantify hip implant
-Potential of pre-operative parameters to predict post-operative THR
fixation and ingrowth

These reports are confronted with the state of the art on performance of
Total Hip Replacement (THR) presented by a faculty of keynote lecturers.
