Postdoctoral Position in Temporomandibular Joint Biomechanics
The University of Missouri - Kansas City

The Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Laboratory in collaboration
with the Division of Post-Graduate Orthodontics and Dentofacial
Orthopedics at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) is
seeking applications for a post doctoral position in the area of
temporomandibular joint biomechanics. The appointee will develop and
validate computational models of the human jaw system for the study of
neuromuscular control and joint loading. Applications will be accepted
until the position is filled with a desired start date of June 1, 2007.
The initial appointment will be for one year with a second year renewal
contingent upon performance. Salary and benefits are competitive and
commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience.

Applicants are expected to have obtained a Ph.D. in Biomedical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in
musculoskeletal biomechanics, the craniomandibular complex, and computer
programming including MATLAB(r) are desired.

The appointee will work under the guidance of Trent Guess, Ph.D. in
close association with Laura R. Iwasaki, D.D.S., Ph.D.

The Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Laboratory is housed in the
recently constructed Robert H. Flarsheim Hall located on the main UMKC
campus adjacent to Kansas City's world renowned Plaza area.
