The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University
of Florida invites applications for a nine-month, tenure track faculty
position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Individuals
with training in Motor Control/Biomechanics with special emphasis on
neural control of motion are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold
an earned doctorate in motor control, neuroscience or biomechanics and
posses evidence of scholarly achievements and external funding
commensurate with appointment rank in these disciplines.
Responsibilities for this position include developing and maintaining a
strong independent research program with additional interdisciplinary
collaborations that merit extramural funding and publishing in
high-impact scholarly journals. In addition, this position entails
teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in motor control and
biomechanics, mentoring graduate students, and participating in
professional, university, and community service. Expected starting date
is August 16, 2007 for an annual nine-month, tenure accruing contract;
salary competitive and commensurate with experience and rank.
