A one-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the area
of finite element analysis of the spine with emphasis on disc arthroplasty.
Qualifications include a PhD in bioengineering, mechanical engineering, or a
related field. Expertise in finite element modeling using ANSYS is
critical. Experience using SimpleWare, SolidWorks, and AI Environment is
desirable.

The successful applicant will join an established team of engineers and
neurosurgeons studying the biomechanics of spinal disorders and treatments.
The successful applicant will participate in ongoing experimental research
protocols and will be responsible for development of computerized
articulating models of cervical and lumbar motion segments that will be used
to address questions about the biomechanics of artificial discs. In
addition, the successful applicant is encouraged to develop his/her own
independent research projects.
