Postdoctoral and PhD student position available in the Human Movement and Balance Laboratory (http://hmbl.bioe.pitt.edu/home.htm) housed in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh (http://www.engr.pitt.edu/bioengineering/main/).

Area of research: Neuromuscular/biomechanical modeling and simulations of locomotion, with a focus on postural responses to slips and trips.

The primary source of funding for these positions will be a 3-year federal grant recently awarded by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Collaborators on this grant include investigators at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Penn State University. Secondary sources of funding include the Quality of Life Technology Engineering Research Center (http://www.qolt.org/).

Expertise in the area of modeling and simulations of movement, balance and gait is highly desired. Positions are open now and applications will continue to be reviewed until positions are filled.
