Position: Post doc and PhD positions in spinal mechanics/robotics at the
University of Alberta (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

Job description: Applications are now being accepted immediately for a
graduate student position (PhD) and/or Post-Doctoral position funded
primarily by NSERC. The position provides an opportunity to work with
biological tissues, human subjects and cutting edge technology in the
fields of spinal mechanics and robotics. The ideal candidate will be an
eager self-starter who is able to be work with, and be part of, a
multidisciplinary research team. The candidate should also be competent
in written and spoken English. Desirable skills include, but are not
limited to, the following:

*Understanding of robotics and robotic control

*Ability to transform data between coordinate systems

*Basic knowledge of materials testing

*Comfort with the testing of biological tissues

*Effective management of human research subjects

*Programming experience in Matlab and/or LabView

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. Student and post-doc
benefits are available.
