The Neuroengineering and Bionanotechnology Lab (www.bio.dibe.unige.it) at
the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering of the University
of Genova, Italy is looking for candidates with a degree in Engineering or
Physics interested in enrolling in



Ph.D. course in Bioengineering

Ph.D. course in Nanotechnology



while working in one of the following research projects:

- development of biosensors based on arrays of nanomechanical
transducers (in collaboration with Selex Communications)

- development of new methods to study cell membrane processes by
means of Scanning Probe Microscopy based techniques (in collaboration with
Agilent Technologies)

- study of the biomechanical properties of natural and engineered
tissue at the nanometer scale for diagnostic and reparative medicine
applications (in collaboration with the M.E. Muller Institute of the
Biozentrum, University of Basel, Switzerland)

- development of new methods to study natural and engineered tissue
structural and biomechanical properties by means of Scanning Probe
Microscopy based techniques.



The Ph.D. courses consist in a three year program with an associated
scholarship of 10,000 Euros per year (after taxes).
