Ph.D. STUDENTSHIP IN BIOMECHANICS



Title: Study of embolization techniques using surgical glues for the endovascular treatment of vascular diseases.



Location: The Department of Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne is based in Compiègne, 40 km North of Paris (France).

The Ph.D. will be in direct collaboration with the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Neurology from University College London, London (UK).



Starting date: 1st December 2007



Qualifications: Master of Science



Salary: Scholarship from the French ministry of Research: 20,000 euros/year for 3 years



Background required for the candidate: In general: continuum mechanics (fluid and solid), some knowledge of biomechanics; no compulsory background in biology. Depending on the abilities and tastes of the PhD candidate, the emphasis will be put either on the experimental or on the modelling side. Knowledge of English required
