The Department of Kinesiology at Gordon College is seeking to fill a
full-time, tenure track position in biomechanics at the assistant or
associate professor level. Rank is dependent upon qualifications and
experience. The primary teaching responsibilities include courses in
introductory and advanced biomechanics. Additional responsibilities may
include periodic contributions to a course entitled Introduction to
Human Movement Studies and to an Anatomy and Physiology course. It is
also expected that an additional applied course in biomechanics will be
developed.

Suitable candidates for this position will be responsible for developing
and maintaining a line of research in addition to their teaching. It is
highly desirable that candidates have interest in collaborative work
within the department. Cross-disciplinary interests are also encouraged.

In addition to these responsibilities, all faculty members at Gordon
College are expected to carry advising responsibilities within their
department, and to participate on institutional committees, according to
their interests.

The Department of Kinesiology provides a major emphasizing a 3-fold
approach to the discipline, with motor control, biomechanics, and
exercise physiology serving as the foundational sub-disciplines.
Students in the major typically go on to graduate work in allied health,
medicine, nursing, and graduate kinesiology programs. The department
has recently developed the Gordon College Center for Balance, Mobility
and Wellness for which construction of a new 6000 square foot facility
is about to commence. This facility provides vital clinical experience
through internships for our students, and has become a focal point for
some of the current research being conducted in the department.
