View Full Version : Hydrophobic Grease

Dear all,

I am planning to run unconfined compression tests for characterizing mechanical properties of tissue. I know that hydrophobic grease should be used for reducing friction between the indenter tip and the tissue; however, I am not sure what sort of grease precisely should be purchased for this specific application. Should it be some form of silicone grease, or can it be a material as simple as petroleum jelly (like Vaseline)? I was wondering if any body has any information in this regard.
Thanks for your time.
