Physical Therapy Associate/Full Professor Position

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the Department of Health
Sciences at Cleveland State University is seeking to fill a nine-month,
tenure-track associate/full professor position to begin Fall 2008. The
Department, part of the College of Science, houses five programs in addition
to the DPT: a Bachelor and Master of Science in Health Sciences, a Master of
Occupational Therapy, and a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Speech
and Language Pathology. The Program provides an energetic, collegial, and
supportive academic environment within the University and the dynamic
Cleveland biomedical community.

Primary Duties consist of teaching DPT courses; conducting research; being
involved in ongoing curriculum development/evaluation; mentoring/advising
students; and providing academic, professional, and/or community service.
Administrative duties within the Program and/or Department are also possible
for the qualified individual, with the potential of a twelve month contract.

Minimum Qualifications: a physical therapist with eligibility for Ohio PT
licensure and a minimum of three years of clinical physical therapy practice
experience; teaching experience; an earned research doctorate in physical
therapy or a related field; a record of scholarly activity.

Preferred Qualifications: evidence of experience and excellence in teaching;
the ability to teach core courses in the DPT Program, including the ability
to teach in the areas of neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, acute
care/integumentary physical therapy, pediatrics, and/or geriatrics; evidence
of excellence in research, including a record of current publications and
successful grant activity; evidence of experience and excellence in
leadership and administrative activities, including an understanding of the
academic culture, and the ability to represent and promote the Physical
Therapy Program within the University and greater community; a record of
professional service; experience integrating technology and/or distance
learning into teaching; and good interpersonal skills.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of
