The Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton
(CSUF) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in
biomechanics, particularly from individuals with interests in exercise,
rehabilitation, sports, older adults and/or children. The CSUF
Department of Kinesiology (> 1,000 majors) offers B.S and M.S. degrees
in Kinesiology, providing students with several focus options related to
specific career objectives and sub disciplinary specializations. The
Department houses several laboratories, including a dedicated 1700
square foot state-of-the-art Biomechanics Laboratory featuring an eight
camera Motion Analysis Corp. motion capture system, two AMTI force
plates, and Novel plantar pressure equipment. Opportunities for
collaboration exist through a number of active research centers
including the Center for Successful Aging, the Center for the Promotion
of Healthy Lifestyles and Obesity Prevention, Employee Wellness Center,
and the Center for the Advancement of Responsible Youth Sports. Visit

* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to
biomechanics and one or more of the following areas: Anatomy, Athletic
Training, Exercise Physiology, Motor Control and/or Learning,
Measurement and Evaluation, Statistics, Introduction to Kinesiology,
and/or Research Methods.

* Conduct research and engage in other scholarly activities in
areas related to physical activity.

* Engage in curriculum development consistent with area of

* Advise and direct student research and graduate

* Provide Department, College, and University service.

* Provide academic advisement and career development


* Earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related
field (e.g., Rehabilitation Sciences, Physical Therapy) with a
specialization in Biomechanics.

* Focused ongoing scholarly/creative activity with a record of
peer-reviewed publications and potential to attract external funding in
the area of Biomechanics.

* Successful teaching performance in relevant courses.

* Evidence of significant professional and leadership

* Ability to work successfully within a culturally diverse
university and community.

Rank &Salary

This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, experience, and
qualifications. Periodic salary adjustments are enacted by the state
legislature. Additional teaching in summer and intersession is often
