University of Kansas, School of Engineering, Faculty Position. The
Bioengineering Research Center at the University of Kansas invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or
Associate Professor level. The individual selected for this position
will join a synergistic team of scientists and engineers working
together to develop novel therapeutic strategies for biological
repair/replacement, clinical diagnostic imaging devices and new
approaches to multi-modal structure/property characterization of
biologic tissues/materials. The starting date will be August, 2008 or
as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will hold a
Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Bioengineering, Material
Science/Engineering or closely related field and must demonstrate
potential for high-quality research and teaching. The Bioengineering
Research Center is seeking an outstanding faculty member who conducts
innovative research in tissue materials/mechanics, biomedical
engineering, tissue engineering, bioimaging, biomaterials or biophysics.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is desirable: acoustics,
elastography, or other imaging modalities that are used to define and
understand structure/property relationships in biologic constructs.
Responsibilities: develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research
program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Salary
and level are commensurate with experience. By February 1, 2008,

teaching interests, copies of no more than two publications or
