Physical Therapy Program

The Physical Therapy Program at the Medical University of South
Carolina (MUSC) has created a new 12 month tenure-track faculty
position with rank commensurate with experience. The faculty member
will have primary duties devoted to research with additional
responsibilities to include scholarly activity, pursuit of extramural
funding, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will join an
expanding core group of faculty focused on rehabilitation research in
an emerging center. This initiative is housed in the Department of
Rehabilitation Sciences and supports collaborative research with
departments across the university and beyond. The new position is
part of the ongoing development of over 30,000 sq ft of dedicated
research space. It is anticipated the successful candidate will
develop a research laboratory with startup funds. The position
requires an academic doctorate and completion of a post-doctoral
research experience. Preference will be given to individuals with a
history of extramural funding and an established line of scientific
investigation in an area related to clinical or basic science
rehabilitation research.

The Physical Therapy Program, an academic unit in the Department of
Rehabilitation Sciences, has been accredited for more than 30 years
and is currently offering an entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy
degree. The Department has 24 full-time faculty members representing
physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and occupational
therapists along with other highly qualified academic and clinical
