Currently I am an intern at Arthrex Inc and I am looking for a way to
quantify wear on a drill bit used for
counterboring bone. We plan on using a handheld drill for this test. I
have read several studies that suggest using increasing temperature,
increasing application force, or displacement as a means of quantifying
the cutting ability of a drill. I would be interested to know if anyone
has had any experience with conducting such a test. I appreciate any
comments or suggestions you may have.
