Dear Biomech-list members,

The School of Health Sciences at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is looking for qualified candidates in the field of exercise and sports science. Individuals with specialties in kinesiology, biomechanics, sports rehabilitation, ergonomics, exercise physiology and exercise promotion are highly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include academic activities for undergraduates and conducting research in the relevant fields. Other duties may involve guiding and teaching postgraduate students as well as be involved in activities related to the institution.

With the recent appointment of USM as a research university status, there is strong support for research funding and opportunities. The Exercise and Sports Science program is at its infancy stage and is looking for capable academic staff to achieve its mission of producing quality sports scientists for the country.

Malaysia is a tropical country in the sense of its climate and the population. Cultural diversity is celebrated by the whole nation and although the official religion is Islam, other faiths are practiced freely in the country. Malaysia is proud of her cultural identity and the unity and peace that has prevailed all this time.

Individuals that are keen to apply should have a doctoral qualification and experience in research. Related job experience and publications would be an added advantage. Ability to communicate effectively in English and to have an open mind in accepting cultural differences is a must.

Interested applicants should send a letter of application, resume, and a list of two (2) professional referees to:
