Faculty Position in
Exercise Science and Health

The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management
at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time
(9-month), tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate
Professor level. Individuals with training and experience in exercise
science and health science are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants should possess (1) a doctorate
in Exercise Science, Health Science, or a related field (2) teaching
ability and experience in higher education, (3) an established record
of scholarship, and (4) potential to obtain external funding for
scholarly activities.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the position include teaching
undergraduate and graduate classes in area of expertise, publishing
research in area of specialization, pursuing external funding,
developing resources to provide on-going support for research
activities, and contributing to interdisciplinary research
collaborations. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to,
the following: exercise science, epidemiology, exercise behavior,
health aspects of physical activity, obesity, body composition or

Program: The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreational
Management offers a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Exercise Science, M.S.
in Health Promotion and a M.A. in Park and Recreation Management. The
Department houses laboratories in Applied Physiology, Biochemistry,
Applied Biomechanics and Ergonomics, Bone Mineral Density & Body
Composition, and Cognitive Neurophysiology. Detailed information,
