POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN COMPUTATIONAL BIOMECHANICS

A postdoctoral researcher is required in the area of computational
biomechanics. The successful applicant will work specifically in the area of
cardiovascular mechanics, and will play a key role in the development of a
novel stenting system for use in peripheral arteries. She/He will work
within a multidisciplinary environment in the Trinity Centre for
Bioengineering. The position is funded by Enterprise Ireland under the
Technology Development phase of the Commercialisation Fund. The initial
duration of the contract is for 12 months, with a possible extension to 30
months.

Applicants will ideally have a PhD in mechanical or biomedical engineering
(or equivalent industrial experience), with significant experience in finite
element modelling. Experience in any of the following areas would also be
beneficial: mechanical design, large deformation finite element analysis,
contact analysis, constitutive modelling of soft tissues.

Salary: 42,000 - 44,000 pa (+ pension)
