A postdoctoral position is available in the Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab
at the University of Texas at Austin. We are searching for an outstanding,
energetic individual in the area of musculoskeletal modeling and simulation
of human movement to study post-stroke hemiparetic gait and the
effectiveness of intervention protocols. The project is a collaborative
grant with the NIH Center for Biomedical Computation at Stanford University
and Dr. Steve Kautz at the University of Florida. The ideal candidate will
be able to perform independent research, have a strong background in
computational modeling and simulation, excellent verbal and written
communication skills, work well in a team setting and make significant
contributions to our research program. The candidate will be expected to use
and develop computational tools, analyze experimental and theoretical data,
prepare manuscripts for publication, and participate in national level
conferences. A Ph.D. in biomechanics, biomedical engineering or mechanical
engineering is preferred. The position is available for two years starting
July 1, 2008.
