JOB POSTING: RESEARCH SCIENTIST - CENTER FOR APPLIED BIOMECHANICS, UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

The University of Virginia, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Science, is seeking applicants for a Research Scientist position at the Center for Applied Biomechanics. Required qualifications include: a Ph.D. in Biomechanical or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field; a strong background and extensive experience in experimental testing, preferably of both biological and non-biological materials and a proven record of proposal, report and journal writing. Preferred qualifications include: a strong background in impact phenomena, measurement of kinematics during crash testing with photogrammetric systems, associated applied mathematics and prior experience in academia. Applicants are advised that the position involves the use of cadaveric material.
