View Full Version : Human Volunteer Rear Crash Tests

06-24-2008, 04:51 AM
Dear Biomch-L Community:

I have been in search of two human volunteer rear crash data sets that I wish to combine into an ongoing whiplash research project:
************************************************** ************************************************** ******
[Data Set (1) Author: Khadilkar, A.V.
Title: Occupant Kinematics in Low-Speed Rear-End Impacts Collected at 1995 S.A.T.A.I.. 1995 Summer Meeting.
Note: This data was gathered at the 1995 Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators Conference
(SATAI) 1995 Summer Meeting and apparently presented at the 1995 or 1996 SATAI Meeting.]

[Data Set (2) Low Speed Rear Impact Collision TOPTEC (3 days), Society of Automotive Engineers,
Irvine, California, August 1994]
************************************************** ************************************************** *******

Specifically, I desire to know as much of the following information as possible: number of struck vehicle male/female occupants tested, ages, height, weight, struck vehicle delta-V, struck vehicle mean/max acceleration, impact duration and injury symptom onset/duration for each rear crash test conducted.

While I have seen references to this set of crash tests in published literature, neither myself nor the expert librarians here at Cleveland Clinic have been able to locate a hard copy of these test results during the course of 10+ weeks of searching.

Any help from those Biomch-L readers, perhaps in the forensic engineering or crash testing community, would be very much appreciated.

With kind regards,
Adam Bartsch
