View Full Version : Acceleration following lean most effecient?

Sorry for the rather stupid question. Please could anyone confirm my logic:

If you accelerate the body with the legs, this will create a rotation around
the centre of mass which is best counteracted by a lean in the direction of
acceleration. So that's why sprinters will lean forward during the
acceleration phase and then become upright as their speed tops out. So its
most effecient to 'lean into' an acceleration.

Am I right?

Thanks, Joe
