Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a
confirmation path position (similar to tenure track in North American
universities) in Human Motor Control. The ability to collaborate with
other researchers and research groups in the School and University is
highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have particular research and teaching
strengths in Motor Control including one or more of the following:
Theoretical Issues in Motor Control; Clinical or Rehabilitation Aspects
of Motor Control; Cognitive Neuroscience; and expertise in some of the
following experimental methods: Electromyography;
Electroencephalography; Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation; Functional
Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Kinematic Measurement techniques applied to
the study of human movement.

The primary responsibilities of the position include developing an
independent research programme, supervising graduate and honours
students, and teaching and developing undergraduate and postgraduate
courses in one or more of the topics indicated above.

Applicants should have a relevant doctorate and publication record and
be able to demonstrate academic and professional excellence in research,
teaching and community service. Evidence of a capability for obtaining
external research funding is desirable.
