SEMINAR: Biomechanical Investigation of Human Injury October 4-5, 2008 * Hyatt La Jolla * San Diego, California

EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT until July 31, 2008

This posting is to announce a special seminar on the "Biomechanical Investigation of Human Injury," to be held October 4-5, 2008 in San Diego. The seminar is sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, an interdisciplinary organization of medical doctors and engineers who study vehicular trauma.

Full program details are available on the website (aaam.org, see conference information). The first part of the course will cover the biomechanics of injury to various body regions, including the latest research into injury mechanisms and tolerances of the head, neck, thorax, abdomen, and extremities. Later sessions will build upon this fundamental background and put it in perspective by addressing contemporary topics such as pediatric injuries and injuries from restraint loading.

SPEAKERS INCLUDE the esteemed Thomas Gennarelli, MD, as well as Elizabeth Raphael, Jonathan Rupp, Kristy Arbogast, Matthew Maltese, James Funk and others.

AAAM is a unique organization that merges the engineering and medical aspects of automotive injury and occupant protection. This course is recommended for both engineers who wish to learn about the medical aspects of injury and medical professionals who wish to learn about the mechanics of injury.
