Job Description:
Laboratory Instrumentation Technician required.

The post holder is part of Prosthetics and Orthotics Services and will be
based in the Clinical Measurements Laboratory (CML) and the post holder will
be expected to work as a team member. This will involve the application and
operation of all CML measurement instrumentation ensuring the collection of
repeatable representative data. This will include operation of a 3d
kinematic Motion Capture System. The post holder will also be responsible
for organising & implementing routine maintenance, calibration, servicing
and repair of all laboratory equipment. Further duties include specification
of new equipment for purchase, data management, new technology research and
completion of minor technical projects which requires a good level of
electronic and software programming experience. In addition, there is a 16
channel Motion Labs EMG system, Cosmed energy measurement system and an
F-Scan in-shoe pressure measurement system in use.

In addition, the person would be expected to take part in CPD and be on the
IPEM Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists (or qualified to apply).
The post holder should be educated to HND/degree level in an
electronics-based subject and have at least 5 years experience of systems
management and fault
finding. Preferably you will have previous experience of working in a gait
laboratory and have some practical knowledge of infection control procedures
relating to medical equipment, although full training will be provided.

Pay grade: Band 6 (NHS). Salary: 24,103 - 32,653 per year.
Permanent contract, working 37.5 hrs/week.
