RESEARCH ENGINEER BIOMECHANICS

The Transportation Research Center Inc. is seeking a biomechanics
research engineer to conduct and manage projects in its Vehicle Research
and Test Division. Position entails conducting research and testing
related to the biomechanics of vehicle occupants and pedestrians
including evaluation, design, and development of crash test dummies,
injury criteria, and human impact response.

An MS degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering (or comparable
discipline) is preferred (a BS degree and especially relevant experience
may be substituted for the MS degree), with demonstrated experience, or
strong interest in working in the field of human impact biomechanics. A
thesis-based degree or dissertation in a relevant area of research is
preferred. Additional academic qualifications or experience in crash
test dummy test and design, human response to impact load, injury
criteria development, experimental design and statistical analysis,
material properties of human tissue and/or human subject testing are
considered to be strengths. Excellent written and verbal communications
required. Experience or interest in transportation-related research
environment preferred.
