FIRST CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Virtual Rehabilitation 2009 International Conference

University of Haifa, Haifa, Israel

June 29 – July 2, 2009

Call for Papers, Posters, Tutorials, Workshops and
Exhibits



Topics related to the use of Virtual Reality in the
following areas are solicited:

· Motor Rehabilitation

· Brain Computer Interfaces

· Rehabilitation Robotics

· Haptic interfaces

· Psychological and Environmental
Rehabilitation

· Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation

· Cognitive Rehabilitation

· Telerehabilitation

· Sociological, demographic and legal
aspects of Virtual Rehabilitation

· Regulatory, education and formative
efforts to promote Virtual Rehabilitation

· Novel applications of game consoles



Paper Submission Guidelines

· Papers should describe original and
unpublished work.

· Authors should submit manuscripts
electronically as a DOC file on the conference web
site: : www.virtual-rehab.org

· CD Proceedings will be distributed at the
conference - subsequently published papers will
become part of the IEEE Online Library, carrying the
IEEE ã notice.

· Papers should not exceed 8 pages, double
column, formatted according to IEEE template
provided on our website. The 8 page limit includes
images, figures, tables and references. All papers
must include the title, an abstract, keywords,
author’s names, affiliations, postal addresses,
e-mail addresses and the contact author for the
paper.

· Paper submission deadline February 15,
2009

· Notification of the review decision: April
1, 2009

· Final camera-ready paper in IEEE format
due: May 1, 2009

· Best Paper Award sponsored by Hocoma AG

· Best Student Paper Award sponsor by
GestureTek Inc.

· Technical Sponsorship from IEEE EMBS

· Special Issue in a journal is being
arranged.



Poster Submission Guidelines

· Posters may describe work in progress or
late-breaking results.

· Submission this year will be via an online
web site: www.virtual-rehab.org. Authors should
submit manuscripts electronically as a DOC file on
the conference web site.

· Poster abstracts should be 1 page, double
column, formatted according to IEEE poster template
provided on our website. The 1 page limit includes
images, figures, tables and references. All posters
should also include the title, an abstract,
author’s names, affiliations, postal addresses,
e-mail addresses and the contact author for the
paper.

· Poster submission deadline: April 15,
2009

· Final camera-ready poster abstract in IEEE
format due: May 1, 2009

· Best Poster Award



Tutorial / Workshop Submission Guidelines

· We are soliciting technical and clinical
tutorials and workshops.

· Interested instructors should submit
1-page proposals including Tutorial/Workshop title,
instructors, contact information of organizer,
objectives, intended audience and abstract.

· Submission this year will be via an online
web site: www.virtual-rehab.org. Specific
formatting guidelines will be published on the web
site.

· Workshop and Tutorial submissions deadline
February 15, 2009

· Notification of the review decision: April
1, 2009

Exhibitor Invitation

· Virtual Rehabilitation 2009 provides a
